August 28: LeAnn Rimes is 28 today.

Country pop singer and songwriter Margaret LeAnn Rimes, was born in Pearl, Mississippi. Her first single, "Blue," was released when she was only 13 years old. In a little over ten years after that, she had sold over 37 million albums and has placed over 40 singles on American and international charts since 1996.

LeAnn has said Barbra Streisand, Wynonna Judd, and Reba McEntire have been primary influences on her career, and her number one inspiration has been Patsy Cline.

LeAnn has won an American Music Award, two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards, and twelve Billboard Music Awards. She also holds four records in the music industry: She is the current youngest person to win a Grammy and the first country artist to win the Grammy for Best New Artist.

LeAnn's rendition of "How Do I Live" is the longest charting song on the U.S. Hot 100 at 69 weeks.
